Our last session with Maggie was on 18th April, 2018.
We had a lovely get together with members who haven't been able to join us for a while. Lots to eat and lots of lovely memories, songs and laughs.
From Maggie:
“ I will be be sad to leave everyone and all the beautiful songs we can sing together and the comradeship that has developed over so many years, . And I’ll miss the changing seasons on the pretty cycle path along the old railway line from Cowes to Newport. But i’m very happy to be passing this talented group on to Joanna Willey a very accomplished musician , choir leader and dance teacher from Fusion Arts, who lives on the Island. Hopefully they may be able to come to join us still at Music in the City. “
Maggie will go back to the Island 2 or three times a year to run some one-off singing sessions and keep up with old friends
From Dennis who has been principal tea maker for Sounds Lively all these years:
" We felt ever so lucky the week we moved to the Island to find your group just round the corner in St Margarets. I had been in a similar group in India and and we missed it when Shangri La went down the pan. So nearly 15 years on. Trillions of songs, sung at @50 venues , brewed 12000 teas, 800 1/2 hour car journeys with Lou, sometimes Lorraine, and even Hilary on rainy days. But it was special because it was on a spiritual level and we became a sort of family. I will miss all those beautiful people if we cannot go on.
You gave a lot of people a lot of happy years."
Regards Dennis and Hilary
