Our History... updated January 2023
After many years at the helm, Maggie O'Connor founder of Sounds Lively decided to retire as our leader in 2018, but continued taking Natural Voice choirs on the mainland. She had been travelling to the Island from the New Forest each week, and only the very worst weather could prevent her making the journey.
We were fortunate to find a new leader when in April 2018 Jo Willey took over from Maggie.
Jo is an experienced musician and runs her own performing arts academy - Fusion Arts. Sounds Lively was her first Acapella group. She is also a Natural Voice Practitioner.
Following a move of venue in 2021, causing a fall in numbers, Jo decided to fold the group in October 2021.
Sandy Kealty became leader of Sounds Lively in November 2021
