...standing room only for a concert in aid of an extremely important cause...
First to perform were the excellent Medina Community Choir not only singing songs from the shows, but also Carl Jenkins' Adiemus - a really spine-tingling piece to begin the concert.
The 'MCC' were followed by some lively Scottish Dancing performed by the Island Scottish Dancers - taught by Ken Neal. As well as organising the concert, our very own Marie, looking resplendent in her Scottish costume, was one of their number.
Sounds Lively, sporting our new yellow scarves, performed after the break. We really enjoyed ourselves, giving a great end to the afternoon. Medina Community Choir members gave us some brilliant feedback:
"Sounds Lively singers were brilliant. All acapella, with moves as well."
"Sounds Lively! Really liked their repertoire... Very heart-warming."
Our performance list:
Siya hamba
Te Aroha
Turn me around
Mountain Thyme
Batonebo
Obo Sumi Sa
Heron home - soloists Fran, Hillary and Viv
En tout la paix du coeur
Freedom is coming
For each child thats born
Don’t fence me in
You raise me up
